Criteria for G-ACUA Accreditation

divider

G-ACUA’s programme accreditation is based upon a set of strict criteria, in order that our programmes meet the required professional standards.

Programme Aims and Learning Outcomes

  • It will be clearly stated who the programmes have been designed for and the level of prior knowledge and experience required to complete the programme
  • The programme’s aims and expected learning outcomes will be clearly set out
  • The level of knowledge that should be achieved at the end of the programme will be identified

Tutors & Supervisors

  • G-ACUA Tutors and Programme Supervisors will always have relevant qualifications and extensive experience in the subject area
  • Sponsoring Company-appointed Mentors will be supported in order to provide an effective service to their employees

Programme Delivery

  • The online method of delivery will be appropriate to meet the aims of the programme and learning outcomes
  • Programme delivery will be flexible, relevant to the participant and set at the correct level
  • It will be designed to encourage the participant to take responsibility for their own new learning

Programme Content

  • The content will be relevant to the participant, up-to-date and factually correct
  • The level that the content is set will be suitable for the participant’s level of ability
  • The curriculum will be concise and clearly laid out

Programme Materials

  • Supporting programme materials will be well-organized and continuously updated
  • The materials will describe the aims of the work packages and will promote effective and successful outcomes
  • They will be well presented, accessible and accurate
  • They will include detailed work package/assignment specifications and will indicate the weighting of each work package/assignment to determine the length of time that should be spent on each of them
  • The programme materials will not infringe any copyright or contain any defamatory material

Administration and Support

  • Effective administration procedures will be put in place to provide support to programme participants throughout their programmes
  • Each programme participant will have a nominated contact for enquiries and advice
  • There will be an effective system in place for keeping records of programme progress and achievement
  • Programme application and cancellation procedures will be available

Assessment

  • Participants will complete a specified number of work packages or assignments, which will be detailed in their programme specification information
  • The assessment criteria, weighting and marking schemes will be available to participants from the start of their programme in order for them to dedicate the right amount of time and effort to each work package or assignment
  • The method of evaluation will be clearly described in the programme specification document, including nominating the marker for each piece of work
  • In the case of work packages or assignments that are double-marked, the first and second markers for each assignment will be identified at the start of the programme
  • Marking feedback will be provided within a reasonable time to the participant, and certainly in advance of the next work package or assignment, in order that knowledge gained can be carried forward into future work

Programme Evaluation

  • A system will be in pace for the programme participants to provide feedback to G-ACUA on the quality of their learning experience

Award

  • Programme participants will receive their G-ACUA programme award if their work reaches the required standard as described in the assessment documentation
  • Presentation of the award will be arranged with the Sponsoring Company or directly with the participant if the programmes are not company-sponsored
